Abstract
This document describes a method that can be used for peat soils to estimate the loss of carbon (C) and resulting CO2 emissions over time, using repeated measurements of C-stock in the soil. This method combines C-profiles with the use of subsidence platens. The subsidence platens are used to determine to what depth sampling should be performed for the C-profiles, and the C-profiles provide information on the C-stock that is present in the soil above a certain depth. By comparing the C-stock at two different moments the loss of C over time can be assessed.
