Water at interfaces: A colloid-chemical approach

    A systematic study with silver iodide, involving double-layer measurements, stability studies, and electrokinetics, leads to the conclusion that the electrokinetic potential ζ and the outer Helmholtz plane potential ψd coincide within experimental error. Consequently, there are no thick stagnant water layers at the interface. The same is concluded for flow in thin liquid films
