Abstract

Washington: January 25th, 2017. Newly elected US President Donald Trump signs an executive order aiming at the construction of the so often announced 3200-km-long wall along the Mexican border, adding to the existing hundreds of kilometres of material barriers already in place. Trump declares that ‘a nation without borders is not a nation. Beginning today, the United States of America gets back control of its borders, gets back its borders’ (D. Smith 2017).
