Vegetatiekartering en inventarisatie witstaarthert op militair oefen- en schietterrein Wacawa (Curaçao)

Research output: Book/Report › Report › Professional

Abstract

This report describes a vegetation survey and an inventory of the Curaçao white-tailed deer on the military training and firing range Wacawa in the western part of the Caribbean island Curaçao. Twenty vegetation types have been described, based on 179 field plots, and records of rare plants are discussed. By using camera trap observations, deployed for a period of one year, an estimate is provided of the population size of the white-tailed deer. Based on the distribution of this endemic mammal and the vulnerability of the vegetation types areas within the military range are indicated that are most vulnerable to military activities.
