Abstract
The SIWARE model package, which stands for Simulation of Water Management in the Arab Republic of Egypt, has been developed as a decision-support system for the Irrigation and Planning Sectors of the Egyptian Ministry of Public Works and Water Resources. The package was implemented within the framework of the Reuse of Drainage Water Project by the collaborating institutions, namely the Drainage Research Institute in Cairo and SC-DLO. Various strategically important water management scenarios were simulated for the Nile Delta by the project. This task has now been taken over by the mentioned ministerial sectors.
