Abstract

Plant-based foods that are designed to mimic and replace animal-based products often do not have the same nutritional composition. Some of these differences cannot be captured in nutritional labels making it even more complicated for consumers to make healthy food choices. This can have implications for the overall dietary quality of diets consisting of modern plant-based foods.
