The outcome is that given the prices for sugar, sugar beets, ethanol and other relevant arable crops that are expected to prevail after the liberalisation of the EU{\textquoteright}s sugar policy in 2017, direct processing of sugar beets is a profitable activity. This result is conditional on a number of requirements.",
