Abstract
During the past decades, enzyme-driven biocatalysis has emerged into a key enabling technology for the analysis and sustainable production of industrially relevant chemicals. Enzyme purification has played an eminent role in the development of the biocatalysis field. This review summarizes the long-standing experience of the authors with the purification of redox enzymes. Next to explaining the theoretical background of traditional and modern enzyme purification techniques, general protocols, specific applications, and valuable bibliometric references for the practical use of the different methods are given.
