Supporting seed sector development under existing African policies

Abstract

Governments in Africa have committed to investing in the agricultural sector through the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP). Integrated Seed Sector Development (ISSD) Africa worked together with seed experts and policy makers to analyse evidence obtained from ‘success stories’ of seed sector interventions, linked to CAADP. Such evidence can inform national policy processes to increase seed sector performance. Also in a joint effort, indicators were developed to measure seed sector performance.
