Stomata work slowly, slow stomata hamper photosynthesis efficiency: Steering options do exist, but not many

Research output: Contribution to journalArticleProfessional

Abstract

The way stomata work is crucial for photosynthesis and transpiration - and therefore for crop productivity. The number and shape are important, but so is the speed at which they operate. Stomata are notoriously slow. Knowledge in this area is growing, but controlling their operation is still a complicated matter.
