Abstract
This report provides insight into the results of the activities carried out in phase 6 of the DollyropeFree project under the coordination of Wageningen Economic Research and the Visserij-innovatiecentrum Zuidwest-Nederland. The main focus of those activities has been the further testing of alternative materials and designs that could potentially be used by bottom-trawling fisheries to replace conventional, plastic-based, dollyrope to protect their nets. The overall goal of the DollyropeFree project is to facilitate a process aimed at finding solutions to substantially reduce the annual amount of dollyrope that ends up in the North sea.
