Abstract
This study has analyzed the impact of possible calamities on the food security of Europe up to 2020 in a context of evolving globalization. It is hypothesized that Europe might be at risk at least for some basic food commodities if further globalization would lead to geographical specialization, and even more so under a scenario of trade liberalization, or with biofuel targets in place putting an additional demand for food crops
