Reductie van ammoniakemissie door gebruik van water in melkveestallen : resultaten van emissiemetingen op Dairy Campus

Research output: Book/ReportReportProfessional

Abstract

Frequent application of around 10 liter water per m2 concrete slatted floor per day resulted in reduced ammonia emission of 37-40% from a unit for 16 dairy cows compared to a reference situation without the use of water. Frequent scraping of the floor did not result in further emission reduction. When the total amount of water was applied to the slurry in the pits at once the emission was only reduced with 7%. The emission reduction was caused by a decrease of the ammonia concentration on the floor and in de top layer of the slurry in de pits. Water was frequently applied with a nozzle system mounted at one side of the walking alley just above the floor. When these amounts of water are applied extra slurry storage capacity is needed but additional emission reduction can be achieved during application of the diluted slurry onto the field.
