Quantitative proteomics analysis of Mycosphaerella infection on wheat using comparative (label-free) LC-MSE

Abstract

We have implemented a new high-throughput comparative (label-free) LC-MS approach for very detailed quantitative comparisons of complex peptide mixtures. Dedicated software provides peak detection, quantification and alignment of multiple LC-MS traces. With this approach peptide abundances can be quantitatively compared between multiple complex protein samples. As an example of this approach we present data from several crop plant-fungal pathogen interactions, with an emphasis on analyses of wheat leaves that are infected with the foliar septoria tritici blotch pathogen Mycosphaerella graminicola
