Abstract

Research programs such as the European Welfare Quality® program, have attempted to improve animal welfare by developing training programs for improving stockperson behaviour towards the animals. The authors will illustrate different approches in this paper, with a special focus on the Quality Handling program, a multi-media training for improving animal handling in pigs, laying hens and cattle farming.
