“Primary and old-growth forests” in een Nederlandse context : over de definitie en het voorkomen van Europees beschermde oude bossen in ons land

This report contains a quick exploration of the implementation of European definitions for ‘Primary forests’ and ‘Old-growth forests’ in the Netherlands. Primary forests are assessed not to exist, but for identifying European Old-growth forests in the Netherlands criteria were constructed. A GIS analysis applying the established criteria, supplemented with expert judgement, provides a first indication of where these forests are found.
