On The Genus Nygolaimium (Thorne, 1930) Heyns, 1968

A new species of Nygolaimiutn, N. sharmai, is described from Brazil. It differs from N. denticulatum by the much longer tooth and from N. menzeli by the strongly offset lip region and much larger body size. Both N. denticulatum and N. menzeli are insufficiently known. Provided that N. denticulatum and N. sharmai are congeneric—no definite evidence to the contrary is available at present—the morphological characters of N. sharmai show that Nygolaimium belongs, not in Nygolaimidae, but in Aporcelaimidae; it may stand close to Scapidens.
