Abstract
Anthocleista potalioides, a new narrowly endemic species of the Chaillu Mountains in Gabon is described and illustrated. Its taxonomic position among the known African species is discussed. It stands apart by a small 8-merous corolla and a 2-locular ovary. Remarks on the affinities of the African genus Anthocleista and Potalia from tropical America are presented
