Abstract
This study gives an overview of available data on nitrogen and phosphorus content in the body of piglets and growing pigs. The results indicated substantial variation in body P content without clear trend over the recent decades. In contrast, mean body N content appeared to have gradually increased over time. Based on the results, small changes are proposed in the reference values used for annual calculation of the mineral excretion of livestock by Statistics Netherlands.
