Abstract

Commissioned by the province North-Holland, research has been conducted into whether the Zwaluwenberg Nature Link – an approximately 1 kilometer long ecological corridor, including two ecoducts, in Het Gooi – makes the exchange of target species possible and thus increases the chances of survival of the populations. The effects of human co-use of the ecological corridor on use by mammals have also been explored. The study makes recommendations for design and management measures that can improve the functioning of the ecological corridor. In addition, this report presents innovative research techniques that can be used in future evaluations of ecological corridors or wildlife passages.
