    Abstract

This report deals with the monitoring of the manure market in the Netherlands in 2007. In particular, it presents the results of calculations with the MAMBO model, registrations of the Regulations Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (LNV-DR) as regards the flows of nitrogen and phosphorus in animal manure between farms and interviews with manure transporters. The monitoring procedure is described in Luesink et al. (2006). The results show that the pressure on the manure market was very high in 2006 and 2007, mainly as a result of the new application norms. This has led to the situation that for a small part (2.5%) of the total manure production, there was no room for placement in 2006 and 2007. Furthermore, the manure disposal prices paid by livestock farms reached new records (fattening pig slurry 25 euros per tonne).
