Mogelijke verdienmodellen voor verduurzaming met de BiodiversiteitsMonitor Akkerbouw (BMA): perspectieven vanuit de aardappelketen

In this study, it was examined how sustainability in the potato chain in the Netherlands can be valued using the Biodiversity Monitor for Arable Farming (BMA). What is currently happening in terms of valuing sustainability, what opportunities are there in the business, what are the possible roles of public and private parties, what are potential future outlooks, and what are the obstacles along the way? All chain partners are willing to contribute to biodiversity, provided their efforts are fairly rewarded. By measuring the KPIs of the BMA, translating value into cash flows is one step closer (‘to measure is to know, and what is known can be rewarded’). In this study, information was gathered through desk research, interviews with several value chain parties, and a physical meeting with chain parties involved in the BMA.
