Abstract
Applicable killing methods are needed for animals surviving a barn fire, but still need to be euthanized due to welfare or financial considerations. Because conventional methods of euthanasia are time-consuming and must be done in the immediate vicinity of the animal, there is a need for alternatives. Which killing method is most useful after a barn fire is very dependent on the situation. Due to large differences between situations, it is important to have different killing methods available, so that they can be applied in certain situations.
