Mapping gender and women focused initiatives in the agriculture sector: a scoping study

    Abstract

    This working paper presents recommendations for actions food system transformation projects can take to support ensure gender equality and social inclusiveness within the context of a food systems project in Ethiopia. The paper presents an overview of public and non-governmental organizations dealing with gender transformative approaches, gender mainstreaming and, women’s and youth empowerment. It provides an overview of best experiences, good practices, lessons and platforms based on primary data collection, as well as a review of key policy documents. The report concludes with key actions the RAISE-FS project should consider for women and youth empowerment and gender equality.
