Abstract
In this letter we argue that the European Commission’s response to the drought threatening European agriculture shows that it has a restricted under - standing of resilience. We call for a shift towards a broader under - standing of resilience and a retargeting of the Common Agricultural Policy’s instruments towards long-term ecological challenges.
