Uitgebreid artikel over het opsporen van landgebruiksveranderingen via het landsdekkend bestand, waarbij satellietgegevens een belangrijke informatiebron zijn. Het LGN5 gewassenbestand omvat een legenda voor landgebruik (op te vatten als: granen, bieten, glastuinbouw, loofbos, bloembollen, kwelders, zout water, riet, stedelijke bebouwing etc.).
