Abstract

This project is being conducted in phases. The first phase covers the development of the methodology for analysis of the vulnerability of nature targets to soil contamination and its application in two practical cases. In this pilot phase, a survey was conducted amongst intended end users of the decision-making support system in tandem with the research in SKB project SV-004 BOS soil assassment (BONANZA) in order to clarify their wishes in terms of use and content. The methodology that was developed for vulnerability analyses was applied as an addition to a current ecological risk evaluation taking place at Westzaan polder (North Holland). In addition, monitoring parameters for nature targets in the river area were proposed on the basis of the vulnerability analysis. The last project section in this pilot phase will be an evaluation of measures for creation and management in order to increase the likelihood that the nature targets will be achieved
