Abstract

In the transition of producing poultry meat from current practice to the welfare and housing criteria of the so-called Better Life 1 star label for broilers, there is insufficient data available on the level of emissions with this production system. There is a need for measures to limit the expected increase of ammonia emissions from this production system. This report identifies and describes a number of promising measures to reduce ammonia emission from this production system.
