Abstract
This chapter analyzes integration between energy, development, climate change, and associated institutional complex in today’s global governance. The role of interplay management in achieving the previously mentioned integration is discussed through institutional complex elements and functional interdependencies among the domains. The chapter explores the dynamics and interrelationships of the three domains through functional linkages, followed by global governance and domain-associated institution analyses. Interplay management of the three domains in light of legalization is presented. The chapter concludes with the importance of interplay management for supporting sustainable development at a global level, stating the requirement of coherent policymaking with the United Nations governance structure on development, energy, and climate.
