Abstract

In March 2008 wave overtopping tests were performed at a dike along the Waddensea in the Netherlands. At this location 4 different test sites were available. Over a period of over 15 years each of these sites has been managed and maintained in a different manner. This has resulted in 4 different grass covers. These differences could have an effect on the resistance against erosion by overtopping waves. Therefore were
performed with the Wave Overtopping Simulator. The research is part of the Dutch SBW program. This paper describes the setup and the results of the tests.
