Organic dairy farmers and supply chain partners have formulated the ambition to increase the agricultural land area for organic dairy farming. This WUR report provides insight into the contribution of scaling up organic dairy farming to social goals, by: 1) providing insight into the current performance and 2) providing insight into the effects (positive and negative) on sustainability goals when scaling up to 15%. The results provide insight into the quantitative sustainability performance and other indicators of conventional and organic. The differences in sustainability performance between conventional and organic are described qualitatively for the themes from the BioMonitor. In addition, the potential sustainability contributions of scaling up organic and the impact are discussed in three scenarios. Based on the results, a summary table was drawn up in which the effect of scaling up from organic to 15% of the area is qualitatively described for each theme from the BioMonitor. The main conclusion is that scaling up to a share of 15% organic dairy farming results in a neutral or positive impact on a number of social goals.
