Abstract

On the initiative of the department Groot Waterland of the Dutch Federation of Agricultural and Horticultural Organisation North Netherlands (LTO), research was done in the Zeevang polder on the practical application of submerged drains. By a more even course of the groundwater table, this way of drainage can limit waterlogging and land subsidence. The height of the ditchwater level is crucial for the desired effect
