Het Europese landbouwbeleid en biodiversiteit

This report deals with the relation between the European Common agricultural policy (CAP) and biodiversity. Spatial patterns of CAP-payments and biodiversity in relation to the indicators of area of High Nature Value farmland, ammonia emission and nitrogen leaching have been analyzed and CAPmeasures are assessed in terms of contribution to biodiversity. Also the coherence of the CAP with European environmental policy, like the Birds and Habitat Directive, the Water Framework Directive and the Nitrates Directive has been assessed. The report concludes with recommendations for a more effective greening of the CAP.
