Wageningen Environmental Research has been collecting information about soil, landforms, groundwater and the landscape in the Netherlands since 1950. This handbook brings together the classifications, techniques and methods we use in field research and in the conversion of the resulting data into maps and databases, which are used in environmental research. This handbook is intended primarily as a reference work for field researchers at Wageningen Environmental Research, but can also be used by research institutions, engineering firms and students.
