Abstract

Sustainability in greenhouse horticulture can be boosted not only through technology but also through cultivation methods. These focus primarily on improving light use efficiency. The LUE rises with higher leaf and crop photosynthesis. The latter can be achieved with better light interception and distribution within the crop. Sugar distribution also plays an important role. Light and temperature integration, too, are valuable tools for boosting sustainability.
