Abstract
To sell tourist destinations, the image of the region is extremely important. Has the Gelderland Valley a tangible image as a tourist destination? To answer this question, the main characteristics of the tourist development process are elaborated (including some comments on modern tourist behaviour) and then the way producers put the valley into the tourism market is verified.
