Evidence on the agronomic and economic impact of spinosad

Research output: Book/ReportReportProfessional

Abstract

This report contains an agronomic and economic impact assessment of spinosad to substantiate its value for European agriculture. Spinosad is an insecticide which is applied in a wide range of crops in 24 EU Member States. The efficacy of spinosad (average of 70 to 80%) is good. Spinosad is particularly valuable for organic production as it is a biocontrol product of natural origin. The data analysed in the research were collected through desk research and sixteen case studies, each comprising a combination of a crop cultivated in an EU member state. The case studies have been executed by experts working in those member states, who completed a questionnaire.
