    Abstract

The PESTLA model Version 2.4 is used to evaluate pesticide leaching from soil under Dutch agricultural conditions. A method is presented to translate the results of a leaching experiment into the standard scenario, using the ratio between measured andcomputed leaching for that experiment. An attempt is made to use an approximating analytical solution for the transport problem, but the deviations from the PESTLA results were too large. The meteorological year 1980 used for the standard scenario was found to be extremely wet in spring. Computations for lysimeter and field conditions gave nearly equal percentages of the dosage leached, except for some wet years with higher lysimeter values.
