Evaluatie van methaanemissieberekeningen en -metingen in de veehouderij

Abstract

Wageningen UR Livestock Research carried out a desk study to analyse why calculated methane emissions differ from actual measured emissions and makes recommendations for further research. The study indicates that the accuracy of both the calculated and measured emissions can be questioned. The recommendations are to re-examine the composition of manure (particularly organic matter (OM), the biodegradable fraction of organic matter (Bo) and the part of the biodegradable fraction that is actually broken down into CH4 (MCF)
with regard to conditions in the Netherlands. A further recommendation is to investigate the possible causes of the wide variation in measured methane emissions, giving consideration to the age of the manure, the effect of ammonia-reducing measures, manure management and enteric methane emission by pigs.
