Abstract

This paper assesses how the application of a mass customisation approach could meet the high demands on information systems in agile business networks in the food and flowers industry. The paper first describes the emergence of agile business networks in the food and flower domain and the resulting demands on information systems. Next, the paper introduces a mass customisation approach and defines requirements for mass customisable software. Finally, the paper presents a design of a Future Internet software platform for business to business collaboration, called FIspace2. The FIspace platform is built up from several modules that meet the requirements for mass customisable software.
