Abstract
Considerable losses of nutrients and pesticides in conventional agriculture severely affect groundwatercycles. In integrated farming leaching is still a problem. The combination of high nitrogen efficiency and the absence of pesticides makes organic farming systems the most approppriate farming systems in catchment areas for drinking water production
