Abstract

In recent years, both the way in which (geo)hydrologists perform their calculations and the context in which these calculations are performed have changed considerably. In this personal overview, we outline these changes, focusing mainly on the last few decades, and explain what this means for the status of hydrological consulting. In doing so, we paint a picture of our current position in hydrological modelling, and at the end, we present our ideas on how we might approach our (model) calculations in the (near) future.
