Abstract

Digital twins for water management were developed, focusing on water quality, drought and water treatment. The digital twins vary in level of ‘maturity’: recording data, structuring information, gathering knowledge, developing understanding, insight and ultimately the wisdom needed to manage a system. Source data were collected, data processing methods were implemented and results were visualized to support decision making. The design was based on the requirements of the users of digital twins. Attention was paid to the visualization and utilisation of information about uncertainty.
