Abstract

The seed is ducted to the drill head and dropped onto a zig-zag cascade comprising guides (7-9) angled to each other and down which the seed flows. The size and orientation of the cascade spreads the flow of seed into an even spacing for laying into the drill furrow. The cross sections of the guides is V-shaped with a 60 degree angle, or rounded. The inclination of each guide is approximately 40 degrees. The dimensions and angular settings of the cascade is selected to provide the required seed spacing for the particular size of seed being drilled.
