Abstract
Through relational thinking, the multiple ecological crises cannot be understood as isolated problems, but as the result of a complex network of relationships built within modernity/coloniality. In this essay, we will construct the vision of subversive care as political and ethical practices that, far from being limited to the private sphere, serve as acts of resistance, weaving theory together with exercises of community care around water in communities in Peru and Colombia. The cracks that arise from the continuous flow of water over homogenizing discourses and power relations enable the seeds of communities to flourish and create the living space for a world in which many worlds can fit. It is argued that the subversive proposals that have emerged in the Global South offer a relational approach to being, in which attention, presence, and care are essential to regenerate life.
