Research output: Book/ReportReportProfessional

Abstract

At Wageningen UR Greenhouse Horticulture & Flower Bulbs in Bleiswijk, a research was carried out in the BEST greenhouse, a greenhouse with a bubble film as greenhouse cover, with a spring and an autumn crop of yellow zucchini, variety ‘Golden Glory’. The research was mainly focused on limiting energy and CO₂ use. In spring, a production of class I fruits of 21.3 kg/m2 was achieved and in autumn 7.8 kg/m2, a clear plus (~25%) compared to practice under glass. At the same time, this was achieved with a heat consumption of 7.7 m3/m2 and a CO2 dosage of 4.9 kg/m2 in the spring cultivation and a heat consumption of 2.3 m3/m2 and a CO2 dosage of 2 kg/m2 in the autumn cultivation, a clear reduction in heat use (>30%) compared to practice under glass.
