Corylopsis, de Schijnhazelaar, is een van de eerste heesters die na de winter in bloei komt. In Nederland zijn verschillende soorten in de handel, maar de naamgeving van de planten is vaak verouderd of twijfelachtig. In Boskoop is van 2002 tot 2006 het handelssortiment opgeplant en bestudeerd
