    Abstract

    The invention provides a floral composition suitable for preventing rapid stem elongation and prolonging vase life of cut tulips, comprising (A) an ethylene-releasing compound or ethylene precursor, (B) a gibberellin, and (C) a cytokinin, the molar ratio (A) : (B) being between 0.1 and 2, the molar ratio (A) : (C) being between 0.3 and 5, and the molar ratio (B) : (C) being between 0.5 and 10, and optionally (D) calcium chloride, with a molar ratio (A) : (D) between 0.002 and 0.03.
