Abstract

The policy declaration of the government Rutte 3 (2017) contains an agreement to reduce the emission of greenhouse gasses by 1.5 million tonnes of CO2 eq. through improvement of the management of agricultural soils. The project ‘Well-defined Land Use’ has been designed to identify effective measures, to stimulate their implementation and to monitor the emission reduction reached to meet this goal. To this end, simulation models are used for support farmers in practice and monitoring. This study describes the data requirements of these models, how they can be met with existing and possibly extended data sources and under which conditions these data can be used for which goal.
