Abstract
At a cursory glance, tissue culture seems like paradise, a land of Cockaigne for plants. Ample amounts of water and carefully chosen nutrients are available
for consumption and the temperature is always ‘pleasant’. However, researchers
have noted several instances of severe stress. This article deals with an as yet
unnoticed, devastating peril: CO2 starvation.
